Drug related offences include the possession, supply, production, trafficking and importation of dangerous drugs, such as amphetamines, heroin, cocaine and cannabis.
Detection of these types of offences ordinarily involves protracted law enforcement investigations and the more serious examples of the more serious charges, such as organised and sophisticated drug trafficking, will involve techniques such as the interception of telephone sessions (voice calls and SMS) and the secret and coercive examination of witnesses. Therefore, the approach that must be taken to effectively defend these types of charges is often very different to other types of charges and proficiency can only come with extensive experience.
